Kiwi-Lime Ice Pops...Yummy!

I found this recipe on the Eating Well website and let me say they are dee-liii-ciousss!! Plus, you control how much sugar to add! A great healthy treat for you and your kids!

1 1/3 cups water
2/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon finely freshly grated lime zest
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1/3 cup lime juice
1 drop green food coloring (optional)
2 kiwis, peeled and very thinly sliced

1. Pour water into a small saucepan, add sugar, lime zest and ginger. Stir over high heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes to a boil. Remove from the heat and let cool to room temperature.
2. Strain the syrup through a fine sieve set over a bowl. Stir in lime juice and food coloring, if using.
3. Line 8 individual frozen-treat molds or small (2-ounce) paper cups with slices of kiwi, pressing them onto the sides so they are close together but not overlapping. Fill each mold or cup with the lime mixture.
4. Freeze until beginning to set, about 1 hour. Insert frozen-treat sticks and freeze until completely firm. Dip the molds briefly in hot water before unmolding.

4th of July Family Acitvities!

Okay, so today I'm really into family activities if you haven't noticed. Anyway, the Disney Family Fun site has a TON of ideas for crafts, outings, and recipes for everyone in the family to participate in. This week they have alot of 4th of July ideas such as making a firecracker favor craft, recipes for fiesta fajitas and grilled bananas, and lots of games! Check it out, there are a lot of tips to keep your family entertained and bonding with one another! Our family loves it!

Free Family Weekend at Bass Pro Shops!!!

Here is one for the whole family!!! Bass Pro Shops is offering free outdoor workshops and activities for children and families each weekend through Sunday July, 5 which means this Sunday is the last weekend to get in on all the fun!! "Family Summer Camp" will be this Saturday and Sunday from 12pm-6pm. Children's craft activities include decorating a fishing bobber or lure, making keychains, designing a birdhouse or creating plaster animal-track casts. They also have outdoor workshops for the family such as fishing, hiking, camping, bird watching etc. Kids will get a free collectible pin for every workshop that they complete.
